St. Catharines, Ontario to Host 56th Annual Niagara Wine Festival from September 21-30, 2007
Niagara Falls, Ontario (PRWEB) August 27, 2007 -- For ten days in September, over 500,000 visitors are expected to descend on the Niagara wine region (http://www.niagarafallstourism.com/allwineries.html) for one of the most popular events of the year--the Niagara Wine Festival. Held annually since 1952, the famous fete includes wine tasting, Niagara-on-the-Lake winery tours, regional cuisine and culinary events, artisan shows, wine seminars, and plenty of family entertainment.
St. Catharine's historic Montebello Park serves as the main festival site--just 12 minutes from Niagara Falls, ON--however, Niagara vineyard tours are also a favorite part of the experience for many wine festival visitors. Special events include the 24th Scotiabank Celebrity Luncheon for Niagara wine makers on September 19th at St. Catharines' Club Roma with keynote speaker Rex Murphy, and the Grande Parade, one of Canada's largest street parades, in St. Catharine's on September 29.
For visitors who want to take full advantage of everything the Niagara wine region event (http://www.niagarafallstourism.com/allfestivals.html) has to offer, the Chrysler Discovery Pass features a choice of five winery experiences, five exclusive culinary offerings, and a host of special packages offered by Niagara hotel partners. Over 30 events, each with a Niagara-on-the-Lake winery, are available to choose from with the $30 pass.
Pass-holders are also eligible for the Chrysler Fall Wine Festival Weekend Get-away Contest for two-night Niagara hotel accommodations, VIP dinner tickets for two, wine tours, and more. Passes and contest entry are available at www.niagarawinefestival.com.
A short drive away, both Niagara Falls hotels and Niagara-on-the-Lake accommodations are within easy reach of the St. Catharine's festival site, and both Canadian travel destinations are home to vineyards.
