NEWS RELEASE

Corrales, N.M. New Mexico is the oldest wine growing region in the United States and in the late 1800's its wines were in demand throughout the country. Vine disease and Prohibition just about wiped out New Mexico's wine industry in the early 1900s, but it is enjoying a dramatic resurgence today. Jim Hammond's book, Wines of Enchantment: A Guide to Finding and Enjoying New Mexico Wines, offers readers a winery-by-winery tour around New Mexico in addition to wine tasting tips and wine and food pairing basics. The book is available for sale online at Amazon.com and at a number of distribution points throughout New Mexico including wine tasting rooms, bookstores and hotels and B&Bs.

"Jim Hammond's book?will acquaint readers with the practical, the historical and the exotic concerning the vintages produced by this sunny southwestern state," says Farid Himeur, the Vice President of Gruet Winery and President of the Board of Directors of New Mexico Wine Grower's Association.
